ho. I've been aching for years for a name change from "Report Program 
Generator"!

"What's in a name?" Name recognition! The unititiated "out there" might get 
"legacy" stuck in their brains for AS400's, "System i" is the latest and 
greatest!

The compiler-writers have introduced forward-compatible adaptations into the 
language (and the OS) for the changing conditions, needs, and available 
computer-power, to the benefit of user organizations. These in turn were able 
to leverage (1)existing investment in code, (2)existing specific-language 
programming talent, skills, experience (us), (3)existing compiler code base (I 
assume), (4)the benefit of combining historical function, such as the cycle, 
with newer functions. 

That's not bad, but RPG now has the benefit of both sides of the issue...
