RE: Updating records from a subfile on the second screen -- RPG400-L

In your subfile DDS specify the SFLNXTCHG keyword and condition it with an
indicator.  As you read through the subfile for validation (using READC) set
the SFLNXTCHG indicator on and then update the subfile.

When you need to read the subfile again for your confirmation screen, you
can use the READC operation to read back the same set of records that were
read during the validation.

I have a doubt here, While on the second screen, and i press F5-Confirm, can

i read the previously displayed subfile, because i will have to chain to the

subfile and read every subfile record and correspondingly update the PF 
field.

Do i really need hidden fields in the subfile? what if the fields are not 
hidden? Will it make a difference

The next screen that is populated is a simple display file, and there
are
other updations that are done on pressing the confirm key.

eg. 2'nd screen(a simple display file)

  F2-Cancel            F5-Confirm

The subfile with name and designation was just an example. So now when i

press F5 on this screen,  the records of the previous screen(i.e. the
subile
need to be updated in the PF)

I need to update records from a subfile, but the records need to be

on pressing the confirmation key on the next screen.

designation needs to be updated, the file is keyed on No. How do i

store


these designations when i move to the next screen, since i will have to

store the corresponding No. temporarily to chain to the file to update

record?
