I've been bitten a few times by this lately.  Apparently CL doesn't handle 
1 character alphabetic parameters well.  And your indicator variable is a 
one character parameter.  Either you have to use Bob's suggestion or drop 
using an indicator field and use a 2 character alphabetic field.  How the 
hell CL can declare itself an ILE (if you use CLLE instead of CLP) and 
force you through these hoops escapes me.  I submitted a DCR here:
