Is anyone aware of any issues using this
> function on a machine with an OS
level of V5R1?
Guessing that this is still the random number program. If you really
need to support V5R1, my best wishes to you. Many good things come from
being on a current release. That's not to criticise; stuff happens.
It's to excuse the following code:
d rnd s 63p 0 inz
d work s 63p62 inz
d float s 8f inz
d seed s 5i 0 inz(0)
c callp ceeran0(seed: float: *omit)
c z-add float work
c eval rnd = (work
c * (max-min+1))
c + min
The wonder and beauty of the RPG team is that they've made the venerable
Z-ADD understand things like floating point numbers. With V5R1 you
might need to switch down from 63p to 31p, I can't remember.
