To use your own example then, I suppose Amazon should remove all but one
graphic from their web page?
Somehow, I think that woudl defeat their business purpose... The graphics
materially enhance their selling process, and is one of the reasons they use
the web instead of a green screen interface.
Also, does it make any difference at all if Amazon takes five seconds to
process an order? Or 10? Or even 15 or 20? Probably not. It is quite fast
enough for the Amazon version of "real time" processing. For an accounting
application, routinely taking five seconds, and occasionally 15 or 20 is too
slow.
