Gene,

Clear does return an AID byte, but Home does not.

I believe it does when the cursor is already in the Home position. That is,
the first press of it may only move the cursor home. But if pressed when
the cursor is in home position, it generates an AID byte. As I recall,
anyway.

Does anyone know what the Forward Edge Trigger Auto Enter is used for, or

what causes it?

I believe they were used only with the "light selector pen" on the 5251
models where they were available. Ancient history now.
