Darrell, the problem is that you need to have 3 file descriptors open in 
your job before you call that Java method.  When you first start your 
job, there probably aren't any descriptors open.  Later on, possibly as 
a result of the Java exception, there must be some open.

If you want to jump straight to the good part ... look at this post from 
Scott Klement from the archives.  He posts a link to some code that will 
solve the problem.
