This is a good point.  A lot of my discomfort with CC arises from the vast
amount of work required to support journal receivers back in the bad old
days.  There's still management required these days.  For example, you might
put your journals in a separate ASP (it's typically a bad setup if one
catastrophic disk failure can take out both your data and your journal).

But anyway, you're right, the general overhead for commitment control is
lower than in days past.  It's still not zero, and it's as simply as
flipping a switch, but I would have to say that these days it may be as hard
to justify NOT using commitment control as it is to justify using it.
