Use a subfile page = subfile size approach. Load all of the records
into a user space

I agree with Bruce - this is the best way to go. I would add that if you
use the EXTNAME/LIKEREC keyword coupled with Read/Write from a DS mapped
into the space it will perform really well - plus if your user decides later
that they want the records sequenced differently, then adding a sort (or
sorts) of the User Space is trivial.
