Buck,

Consider one or more service programs containing one or more procedures.

You've got a program that takes some input, examines it and determines at run time which procedure
needs to be called.  Using the system APIs, it loads the service program resolves a pointer to the
procedure and calls the procedure via the pointer. 

That's all polymorphism is basically.  The difference when using polymorphism, you don't have to
explicitly handle the determination, resolution, and calling of the appropriate version of the
function.
