Very doubtful.

IBM does support using the BARCODE keyword with ASCII printers, via the AFPDS to ASCII transform
functionality in Host Print Transform.  However, from the IBM Printing IV Redbook

AFPDS to ASCII transform supports AFPDS font, text, image, and barcode
commands. It can convert the AFP data stream to a number of ASCII printer data
streams, but the best or premier support is to the following ASCII printer data
streams:
* PPDS levels 3 and 4 (IBM 4019 and 4029 laser printers)
* PCL 4, 5, and 6 (IBM Network Printers, IBM 4039 laser printer, HP LaserJet,
HP InkJet (in raster mode only)


If your Epson printer understands PCL, then it should work; though you might need to use another Mfg
Type/Model like *HP4.  I've done this with documents going to HP laserjets.  Just make sure you set
the printer file to DEVTYP(*AFPDS).

But I'd be willing to bet the printer doesn't understand PCL.
