Hi Cor,

The solution my project leader supports is to adapt the other program 
according to mine, but that still doesn't answer my question whether 00:00 
is the same as 24:00

Hi Peter,

According to ISO 8601: Midnight may be expressed as either 00:00:00 or
24:00:00. 

That doesn't help, so what is left now is to work out between you what
the interpretation will be. If needed you might want to agree upon a
standard (well.. ISO doesn't help here, but perhaps ANSI, or some
European or even Belgian organisation) and work out a solution between
you.

If anything else fails you can always resolve to the more down to earth
rules like: "the best paying customer wins", "highest pay wins",
"highest in rank wins", "the best blackmail ploy wins" or "heads or
tails?".
