Whenever I have to use %div( ) and/or %rem( ) with decimals, such as pricing, I always multiple both the dividend and divisor by an appropriate value (such as 100) and use those values. Just remember that both sides of the formula must be multiplied by the same factor. For example:

45.7 / 13.33 = 3.42...

Multiplying by 10 and 100, respectively, before the division results in .342, which is incorrect.

Multiplying both sides by 100 (4570 / 1333) still yields 3.42...

Or, better stated - Neither %DIV or %REM work with decimals....

Tried that - doesn't work. Both %DIV and %REM require integers... :-(

Try this:
P_Percent = %Div(RcdsRead : OnePercent );
Remainder = %Rem(RcdsRead : OnePercent );

Subject: Another Question about DIV and MVR

This code is from Martin Rowe's Progress Meter. How can I change the
code to
FREE?

D OnePercent S 11p 2

D P_Percent S 3p 0

D RcdsRead S 9p 0

D Remainder S 9p 0

/END-FREE

C RcdsRead DIV OnePercent P_Percent

C MVR Remainder

/FREE

I have read the postings on %DIV and %REM, and can't get away from the
integer requirement. Not sure what to do with OnePercent…
