First let me thank everyone for so many responses.  It's nice to have a place to go for such great help.

Out of all the responses, Greg came up with the perfect specs for me.  A lot of people got close but what I had always left out was that final OVRPRTF with the *FCFC before copying the file back to a print file.  Once I did that, the copy worked perfectly.

I tried the various overrides for the print file to get the reports into one print file on the fly but the problem, I believe, was the report programs all use Input Primary with level breaking.  I believe that was forcing the print file closed because of the automatic LR at the end.
