anyway... it has it's meaning in the screen emulation application but
not in DDS.

Quite true. CTRL is NOT a modifier in 5250 data stream. ALT is a modifier, but not for AID keys (which are what you're really after, anyway.)

CLEAR is an AID key (but as I recall, it can only be set up to act as a PA, not as a PF). I believe HELP is the same.

What you really want is a copy of the 5250 reference manual. That includes a list of all the AID codes.

But I agree with what the others said. And if you need more than 24 different AID codes for one screen, you probably need to rethink the design.
