"Exfmt" will *always* wait for input...
You'd rather do just a "Write", then "wait" some seconds (different 
possibilities), then proceed with other things...
BUT...
when you compile the DSPF, remember there is an optional keyword DFRWRT 
whose default value is *YES...
So, if you don't change it (either in the CRTDSPF itself, or, later on, 
via a CHGDSPF or OVRDSPF...) to *NO, your "Write" would not show 
anything until next EXFMT took place.
If you CHGDSPF to DFRWRT(*NO) ... then "Write" will show your format 
right away... but will continue... , so you need to delay further 
execution some seconds via CL (DLYJOB) or whatever.
