I think that we can safely assume that, unless stated that they are running an obsolete compiler, we don't need the disclaimer if all currently supported versions of the OS support that function. I can guarantee that, unless they state they are running V2R2 or earlier (and I REALLY felt generous that day) that I am not going to state that "this function requires you be on V2R3 or later".
