*COMPATIBLE does NOT mean that the version is out of date!! That would be *BACKLEVEL (or *BKLVLOPT or *BKLVLBASE). *COMPATIBLE means that the version that's installed has been verified as compatible with the current release.
*COMPATIBLE is the best status possible.
5722-AC3 is required on V5R3 or earlier.

Oh - *COMPATIBLE means an earlier version that is compatible with your current OS version. Please use F1 on all screens - they ALL have explanations of these things. That's one way we all have learned what we know here.
