Both your data structure example, and Adam's example fail to set the microseconds portion of the timestamp. They set the hour, minutes, and seconds to their highest value, but leave the microseconds set to zero.

IMHO, that's misleading. But if that's really what you want, here's a way that seems more intuitive to me (very similar to Adam's)

D maxtime s T inz(*HIVAL)

MyTimestampField = myDateField + maxtime;

However, if it were me, I'd want to set the microseconds as well. To do that, I'd do something like this:

D maxtime c '235959999999'

MyTimestampField = %timestamp( %char(myDateField:*iso0)
+ maxtime
: *ISO0 );
