Years and years ago ('92-'93) I was on contract at IBM on a project
called UVDS. Ultimedia Video Delivery System. We DID have the 400
controlling electronic devices (VCRs, Laserdisc players, cam corders,
video switches, etc). It was way cool to key in a command on the command
line and have the laser disc player next to me eject the disc.

My manager always loved to visit to see the latest toy I was playing
with. He never thought I really had a job, that I was just playing. :-)

This product was eventually sucked into some other product and has
disappeared.
