For endless loops I prefer to use named indicators and do:

dow not exit or cancel (or whatever the conditions are)

Ok, I use those too, but it still doesn't make the pain in my eye go away.

imo, writing (and reading) the above forces me to think of 10
different scenarios on every loop, when if I take them one at a time,
process and iter, or process and leave, I don't have to have all that
compound logic all in one place.

I also hate to mix positives and negatives with ors and parens. That
forces me to think way too hard to follow it.

not this or ((not that and this) or (not theother)) makes my eyes hurt.
