AS for my last email, disregard it. I figure out what was happening.

The fields in question were defined in the file as data type B. I was
using EZVIEW to view the file and the fields were displayed as zeros.

When I converted the fields to Zoned, then the fields had values. The
problem seems to be with EZVIEW and not the programming.
