It doesn't really strike me as "OPM is faster" either. Except in the very narrow case of an OPM to OPM program call, where it's only faster because it avoids the "impedance bump" inherent in cases where OPM and ILE programs call each other.

And of course, I try to avoid having that kind of impedance bump where the call is going to be happening repeatedly.
