| Subject: Creating a time stamp from a command

| My problem is that within the RPGILE program to process the
| command, I
| need to take both the From date & time (and the Thru date and
| time) and
| create timestamps and for some reason my mind becomes blank
| I am hoping someone has done this already and can point me in
| the right
| direction

First, read the help for the TYPE() parameter of command PARM. You will
learn about the format passed to your program for *DATE and *TIME types.

Once you know the formats, you can code %DATE() and %TIME() build-in
functions to convert your inputs to RPG DATE and TIME values, Combine
these with %TIMESTAMP() to create a timestamp value.
