I just send strpccmd cmd('MyPath/MyPdfDocument.pdf') and the PC figures it out
for itself. No need for rundll32

STRPCCMD PCCMD('rundll32 url.dll,FileProtocolHandler >

Nice trick, didn't know that you could start the browser this way.I start IE
explicitly, but this is a better way.
One limitation is the PCCMD parameter is limited to 132 characters, so you >
need to make sure your url does not exceed 95 characters.
I had the same problem, but got around this by first generating a batch file
withthe command to start the browser with the URL and then start (via STRPCCMD)a
batch program on the local PC which downloads the generated batch fileand runs
it.It's a kludge, but it works.

No, don't call the browser .exe.  I use rundll32.  This tells the PC to
use whatever the default browser is on the PC.  That way, the users can
use whatever browser they want.  Here is an example.

STRPCCMD PCCMD('rundll32 url.dll,FileProtocolHandler
http://myserver:89/web/inquiry.php') PAUSE(*NO)

One limitation is the PCCMD parameter is limited to 132 characters, so you
need to make sure your url does not exceed 95 characters.  And of course
this version only works for windows.  If you are a Linux or Mac shop, you
will need to adjust the method accordingly.

This sounds like a simple way for many on monolithic ERP systems to get
started.
Are you calling the Browser .exe passing a URL link?
Do you have an example of the CL?

What I do in those cases (where I need a web page) outside of the ERP
system is add an option to whatever the existing menu
system is, that simply calls a CL program that uses STRPCO/STRPCCMD to

actually invoke the web application in the browser.  That way, the
user is
still "working" within the same application menus.
