There is a keyword for AFPDS printer files called AFPRSC which has a subtype of *JFIF (for jpeg, and *TIFF for TIFF). I haven't used it, and it seems to have some significant restrictions like not being able to be printed to a physical printer. That would make it different from BARCODE, which works really well on a standard laser printer.

I've just spent a small but significant chunk of the past week or so working on a project for a customer: an RPG program that actually generates a report as a spool file (the same project for which I was interested in ways to convert a spool file to a PDF, and email it).

They were wondering how much more work it would be to add a picture (presumably a logo) to the report.

I haven't the slightest idea. I'm just doing

FQPRINT O F 132 PRINTER INFDS(PRTFBK)

and writing a bunch of records defined in O-specs.

Anybody care to tell me where to go on this?
