Prior to 7.1, embedded SQL cannot consume result sets.  Embedded SQL 
includes C, Cobol and RPG.  It's not a limit of RPG, it's a limit of 
Embedded SQL.

And, again, that's only PRIOR to 7.1 -- starting with 7.1, problem gone.

CLI, ODBC, JDBC, PHP, etc, are all ways to circumvent this on earlier 
releases.
