You can return an array or MODS if you want to.  If you do, you can 
specify (with a variable) how many rows to return.

But you don't have to, you can also return an SQL cursor.

You can't INSERT into a UDTF.  A UDTF outputs a virtual table that's 
calculated by your RPG program.  It's not a real table, and you can't 
insert, update or delete from it (and frankly, I don't see why you'd 
want to?!)
