FYI: My observation of readDir is that the order of the links is not the same as WRKLNK, WRKLNK orders them alphabetically AFAICT. The order readDir returns the links, I assume, is in the order they are in the "link table" (or whatever its really called) on disk, which I assume is in the order the links were created.

I've never done any experimenting to see what order links are returned by readDir for different scenarios so YMMV.

What you said was quite logical but never thought about it. You see the 
sequence options in windows, but never knew WRKLNK sequenced alphabetically.
