FYI: My observation of readDir is that the order of the links is not the same as WRKLNK, WRKLNK orders them alphabetically AFAICT. The order readDir returns the links, I assume, is in the order they are in the "link table" (or whatever its really called) on disk, which I assume is in the order the links were created.
I've never done any experimenting to see what order links are returned by readDir for different scenarios so YMMV.
