Our comments crossed in the Intertubes. <smile> But as a follow-up, the one situation I might have tried was the interface to our Java server. We do a lot of fire and forget transactions, which would simply be a quick series of writes to a file rather than what we do now, which is a bunch of calls to an API. For example, we do email that way, by setting the various parameters. I could see replacing that with writes to a record format. But that's not really giving me a ton of ROI, and I've already spent my R&D budget for now <grin>.
