Ah. There are ways round that, though...

1. You could not read into a data-structure, but simply do a READ, and have
a single (non-qualified) data-structure with the field name defined using
EXTNAME - this would be automatically populated. Then, optionally, move the
contents of that data-structure into a qualified data-structure

2. You could define the file internally and read it into a single EXTNAME
data-structure. Possibly use a combination of prefixes and/or qualification.

I can provide examples if you want.
