Hi Mike,

When something is defined as Zoned in a file description (in this example, your display file) that does NOT mean it'll be defined as zoned in your RPG program.

The default behavior in RPG is to convert all fields from files into packed format. That way, if you work with two files that have the same fieldname, they'll be the same data type as well.

There are exceptions to this rule. (Particularly when data structures are involved.)

But, anyway... that's my guess. Your DFROMDATE/DTODATE fields are packed, but the prototype defines zoned.

I have a screen with two 8,0 decimal fields. My prototype takes the same two field types. See DFROMDATE and DTODATE and the two parameters in the screenshot here (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2732434/2011-12-14-2126_screenshot.png). However, when I compile it, I get the error "RNF7535 The type and attributes of parameter 1 do not match those of the prototype." for both fields.

What am I missing?

dow (not isValid);

exfmt SCRN01;

if (F3 or F12);
leave;
endif;

if (IsValidData());
RunReport(DFromDate:DToDate);
endif;

enddo;

I feel like it is something stupid, I just don't see it.
