You could try something like:

 scpattern = '[0-9][0-9][0-9][^0-9a-zA-Z][0-9][0-9][^0-9a-zA-Z][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9]'

Basically [^0-9a-zA-Z] means anything BUT the ranges listed so no
digits or letters.
