Subject: Re: PDF's on IFS
Perhaps pre-create the file with the correct CCSID? What's the CCSID of the file being created by the RPG program?

Hi All,--
I have a Pdf in my /tmp folder which was downloaded using RPG/LE from an XML stream. The RPG stripped off the tags, base/64 decoded it and wrote it out to /tmp.
If I drag the exact same version of the pdf from windows into /tmp, then view the contents for comparision, they match my file.
If I look at my file in Windows, there is no Adobe icon and no properties to speak of, although it has a size of 19k. If I FTP it or drag it from a Navigator session to my desktop, it comes up in all its glory.
I need to automate the whole procedure. Can anyone tell me why this extra step is needed, and if there's a way to write it into the IFS so as to avoid FTP-ing it. The eventual destination is a different folder in the same IFS, but it needs to be accessible from windows as an Adobe Pdf while residing on the IFS.
Thanks for any help,
David.
