I've only been following this thread sporadically, but as one who knows
enough programming languages to know that not even PL/I (which I know)
or even Object PL/I (which I've heard of) is a panacea (and C, RPG, C++,
C#, and Java don't even come close), and as one who generally tries to
use the strengths of a variety of languages, I can say from experience
that in an interactive RPG program without a primary file, The Cycle
(note capitalization!) provides a built-in event loop. Just plumb your
exit key(s) into LR.

Which is why I was Riding The Cycle long before I declared my first
primary file.
