adding unique key to all the tables is for java and .net people only. we RPG people does not really like that.... ooouuu, am I in trouble or what... Just kidding, I don't understand the need.

If as suggested it's becuase you don't have a unique key...then I
strongly suggest adding one. :)

If nothing else, couldn't you use CHAIN with the RRN of the current record?
