I recall when I did the HSSF stuff that you mentioned the java400/ext
directory.

Once I download the JAR, can you recommend where I should put it in the IFS
and how to make the RPG find it?

What do you mean by "I downloaded and extracted PDFBox".  What, exactly 
did you download and extract?  What's the name of the file you placed there?

Is it possible that the file you extracted is corrupt?  Or is the wrong 
file (doesn't contain the org.apache.pdfbox.pdmodel.PDDocument class)?

Also, although it doesn't seem to be related to your problem, I strongly 
recommend against putting code like this in /qibm/userdata/Java400/ext. 
(That's a bad practice that I made the mistake of recommending years 
ago, and deeply regret.)
