Can I just add a second sorta %subarr?

sorta %subarr(alot1 : 1 : x)

sorta %subarr(abarcod : 1 : x)

Simple answer - No. There is no guarantee that the first sequence will be preserved.

The only way to make it work with sorta is if the two fields are adjacent in the array element _and_ in the right order _and_ are both character fields.

Easiest way is to use qsort - that can handle any number of keys. plenty of examples out there on the web. Indeed on this list.
