Thanks for the information. Charles. I've used both iconv() and QDCXLATE,
but wasn't cognizant of issues with the latter. It stands to reason,
however, given the variants of ASCII and EBCDIC and because it uses
deprecated ASCII table. I've used the API in the past as a quick way to
translate to ASCII when needed since it is somewhat less coding than
iconv(). Thankfully, I haven't run into problems, but I'll stick with
iconv() going forward.
