While there could be some nuances for why one access path could be
chosen in one case versus another, the result-set is either correct or
incorrect. Determine which result-set is correct, and then investigate
the query or queries which provide the incorrect output... as a defect.
FWiW I had thought that the CQE was still mandated in 6.1 for all
queries whereby a DDS LF has been specified on the FROM clause,
irrespective of the IGNORE_DERIVED_INDEX settings. Is that no longer a
restriction with\since IBM i 7.1 DB2 SQL; 6.1? Also I thought the
"debug messages" had been deprecated for use as a valid feedback
mechanism, since v5r4 or earlier; that although they may remain somewhat
representative, mostly only for when the CQE processes with
long-existing implementations for which the feature had already been
hardened, newer and especially SQE implementations may not be well
described.?
