Here are the results of the above code:
DSPLY  You owe: -123,456.78
DSPLY  You owe: -123456.78

I like commas, and I also like %editw() for special cases.  I believe we 
are limited with what we can provide users but I do want to at least 
give em what we got, especially when it is so easy. Besides, if this 
really was about a money-owed figure, I would probably prefer "CR" to a 
minus sign.

errr.... I like scroll bars too.  And check boxes & radio buttons.  They 
are easy to program and easier to use.  They are intuitive.  Yes, green 
screen is going away but until it does, why not use what we've got?

(I believe I am about to learn something I should already know.  But 
hey, I will learn from Scott any day, and thank him for it.
