Only 2 points:
- leaving locks overlapping an user transaction (EXFMT holding record
locks) is IMHO a technical flaw (and with CmtCtl it's easy to avoid, simply
end the commit group before EXFMT - as a transaction Monitor does)
- CmtCtl is a very easy to use technique to isolate transactions and is
supported by (nearly) all database systems. as400 supports it since a long
time, but most programms (and programmers) don't use it without going the
harder ways. they simply trust on luck, hoping nothing unexpected would
happen - and it will happen and happens 3 times a week.
