Thank you in advance for any advice!

I know that as of 6.1 physical files can be defined locally within a
sub-procedure, but is there no way to define and use a display file within
a sub-procedure?

I'm attempting to make a sub-procedure (called ChrGetEmail) that prompts
the user for an Email address. It could be used something like this:

myEmail = ChrGetEmail;

Here is a basic version of the code that I'm attempting to implement with
no success:

______________________________________________

PChrGetEmail B Export

FEMAILFM CF E WORKSTN InDDS(DSIndAra)

DChrGetEmail PI 100A Varying

//Local Variables

DDSIndAra DS

D F3 3 3N

DOutput S 100A

/Free

DoU F3 = *On;

ExFmt Email1;

If F3 = *On;

Leave;

EndIf;

If EmlEmail = *Blanks;

EmlError = 'Blank Email';

Iter;

Else;

If Not ChrValEmail(EmlEmail); //Second Sub-Procedure to Validate
Email

EmlError = 'Invalid Email Addres';

Iter;

Else;

Output = EmlEmail;

Return Output;

EndIf;

EndIf;

EndDo;

/End-Free

PChrGetEmail E

When compiling this code, I get the error messages that none of the
variables defined within the WORKSTN display file are defined. Is there
another way to do this, or is this functionality not supported?

Thanks again for your time!
