(My apologies for posting this to the wrong list. The actual issue was on the Windows side, although I wanted to run an RPG program.)
Thanks for the replies!
I do have it working now.
I'm still not sure what the issue was, I'm very new at all this Windows scripting.
I think it was running the first batch to kick off the program and then running the next batch file with the download without waiting. (I wanted to make the download independent of the first step.)
I fixed it by using the windows batch command START /WAIT:
I also found out, that when using the START /WAIT, the batch file it calls --in this case CpuEdits.bat-- can use those variables as they are without having to use the %1%, %2%... parameter references.
Buck, This particular Windows server I was downloading to has no FTP service, so Scott's utility can't work.
I've used Scott's FTPAPI utility and it's great! Control over each step of the FTP process, rather than parsing the batch file...
John, yes, thanks, it wasn't submitting. First thing I checked.
Roger, Thanks for the mention of Aaron's RPGtoDesktop. I'll have to check it out. The Windows guys have their reasons for keeping the FTP service off the box. They have a lot of users doing FTP stuff here and there, probably want to avoid user accidents. (That may change with the recently new CIO).
Thanks again
Alan
