Twitter is either UNICODE or ASCII. A # is a #, fortunately :-)

Oh I see, yeah manually dealing with it would be a pain.
And sure, that may not be a pretty prefix to a variable name. I see

Kurt,
Suppose I just copy & paste Bob's code... I must translate all his
to"invariant
my "Ñ" .
What happens here is that # is not a part (IIRC) of EBCDIC's
forcharacter set", symbols that do not change betwen code pages like,
thatexample, 'a' thru 'z', digits, %, =, etc.Kurt.Anderson@xxxxxxxxxxxx
Besides, Ñ just look awful as part of a field name :-)
Regards,
Luis.

Is the "Ñ" an acceptable character for naming on the IBM i with

character acceptable?

(p.s. It's a whole other discussion, but I don't understand why
codepeople are so opposed to using special characters (@, #, $) in
variable
names?)
Bob,
An issue could be that some characters "map" differently in other
RPG400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxxpages. For example, your "#" must be translated to "Ñ" (a N with a
tilde on
top) in our CCSID(284) (Spanish) system. Ugh...
