Leading on from it, with the size of the spreadsheets, how do I determine

a

good number to use for "ss_begin_object_group".

My number I use now is 100, which seems to be way to small.

The biggest impact on objects is in each cell you create. I usually have a
procedure that creates a row for cells, which I call for each record of
data. So, I define the (100) at the beginning of that row procedure and
place the stop point at the end. That way each row is marked for
collection as its completed.

Make sure you don't mark objects as garbage when you're going to reference
them later. For example, you wouldn't want your book or sheet definition
marked for collection while you were still writing to that sheet or book.
If you do accidentally do it, as I have done in more complicated
multi-sheet programs, you'll get a nasty error that I can't recall.
