Thank you. Totally missed the Options Keyword.
I need another weekend.

Try this:
Dcl-PR open   Int(10)  ExtProc('open');
  path@       pointer  Value options(*String);
  oflag       Int(10)  Value;
  mode        Uns(10)  Value Options(*nopass);
  codepage    Uns(10)  Value Options(*nopass);
End-PR;
Brian.

Subject: /Free coding of D specs
I am trying to convert to /Free in D specs and am having some issues with the IFS Prototypes provided by Scott Klemment.
Here is my first one as provided by Scott:
D open            PR            10I 0 ExtProc('open')
D  path@                          *   Value options(*String)
D  oflag                        10I 0 Value
D  mode                         10U 0 Value Options(*nopass)
D  codepage                     10U 0 Value Options(*nopass)
Here is my /Free conversion.
Dcl-Pr Open  Int(10) ExtProc('open') ;
  path@  Pointer ;
  oflag Int(10) Value ;
  mode  Uns(10) Value *NoPass ;
  codepage Uns(10) Value *NoPass ;
End-Pr;
The *Nopass element is not valid according to my RDi, but I cannot locate an example that shows what you do in place of the *NoPass.
Of course, I may be entirely wrong with all of this, or I should leave well enough alone and just leave the copybooks as they were.
I appreciate directions to documentation, I enjoy reading manuals.
Thank you,
Cyndi B.
