Jeff, let me mention EXPJRNE again. You can probably have it downloaded
and installed in 2-3 hours.
It has a command interface, with most of the selection criteria that can
be used on DSPJRN. You simply specify the journaled file and it figures
out the journals and receivers for you. I didn't plow deeply into the code,
but I'm pretty sure it used the APIs.
I used it at my last two jobs for ad-hoc analysis of data changes. It was
very reliable.
