Jeff,

There is a time you can set on the select() call. Once past that time,
select() will fail with a timeout.

Scott K's examples should show how to use this function.

I have an RPGLE Socket handling program that is attempting to connect to a
remote server in Non Blocked mode.
The connect fails with a return of EINPROGRESS.
From my search on this condition, it appears that I need to do a select to
wait for the socket to become readable.
How do I do this and not wait forever (ie: time out after a defined time
interval)?

Thanks,
