The page/line number was useful for that rare situation - drop them into
the sorter and they'd be put in order spit-spot. But it was more useful
for making changes; you'd pull the card that needed to be fixed, punch a
new one with the same page/line and... enhanced code, riffle through the
deck and put it in where it belonged, ready to compile again.
